My name is Gemma, it isn't too much common in Catalan, my surnames aren't, either. In Catalan there are too profession names, as Ferrer or Pagès.

In my country, the name I use when I meet someone for the first time depends of the situation. If it's a friendly situation, we use first names, if it's a more formal one, we use family names.
