advice request

I live quite far from my family location and this is due to my job. For this reason I don't have much time to keep in touch with my relatives and for this reason they began to complain with me about this. I know that the tecnology can help us to keep in touch each other but anyone of them have never called me (not my parents of course) before and no one went to meet me and my family in the place where we live. It seem that it's only my duty call them like the prodigal son!
I don't believe it's fare because I have to take care of my family (wife and children) and you know, in this century the workers haven't got free time but this is not the problem, I complain with them about the mentality, I think is a pretty egoistic behaviour.
What do you think about it?
