Unlucky week

Unlucky week

Do not remember having a week in my life as bad as that explains in this unit!!! So, I'm going to invent:

Last month I spent one of the worst weeks in my life, you couldn't believe it. You see, I had to go to Amsterdam for an important business meeting, but, when I was driving towards airport, my car broke down, I called car's -censured- company, that came and took me to the airport, unfortunately I ended up missing de flight. I caught the next one and, luckily, I arrived in time for the meeting.
But, the surprise was when I came back, my house was burgled while I was in Amsterdam, things could not be worse, but I noticed that the floor was wet, there was quite a lot of water everywhere, I went to the bathroom, and everything was full of water, I saw the tub faucet was turned on and the cap was put in the bath. I had to call house -censured- company, also... The floor is made by wood and I have to change it.
On the other hand, I went to the police to report the bulgary, once there, the witness of another case thougt I was a criminal who he had been identify and I had to spend hours there until agents verify that it was not.
This was, without doubt, the worst week of may life.

Thanks Rut - this is a real nightmare! Especially when somebody mistakes your for a criminal... that happened to a friend. He had years of legal problems!
Can I help?
my house was burgled while I was in Amsterdam= Here you really need the past perfect: My house had been burgled while I was...
the cap was put in the bath= Well, you can say: the faucet was on and the bath was overflowing.
is made by wood and I have to change it= The floor was made of wood and I had to replace it.
On the other hand= This doesn't work here. You can say: On top of that, when I went to the police station to report the burglary, the witness ....
See you!
