III He was born in Spain, on May the first, 1842 He attended the medical school of Zaragoza, and he graduated in 1873 He married Silveria Fañanás García in 1879, with whom he had four daughters and three sons. He was Director of the Zaragoza Museum (1879), Director of the National Institute of Hygiene (1899) He died in Madrid in 1934. He won the Nobel Medicine Prize in 1906 together with an Italian Golgi
