The Feasts of the Muses in 1972 being its precursor, the Olympus Festival was transformed through its course of time to a contemporary cultural institution, which counts thousands of friends and stands high in our estimation for its aesthetics and the completeness of the cultural suggestions it presents every summer. Within its 38 years of existence in art acts of northern Greece, the Olympus Festival recollects important moments and splendid unforgettable presences of artists. Unequalled creators, great theatre actors and important artists have honoured the Olympus Festival and have marked it as a cradle of civilization for the whole area.
With ardent desire and imagination, the Olympus Festival continues its trip in alliance with the unalterable by the time conditions it has set and invites us this year as well to short escapes from our daily routine in beautiful Pieria.
With vigour and verve, despite its 38 years, the Olympus Festival, a “carefree child”, climbs one more summer on the Castle of Platamon to gaze the big blue, and strolls around the archaeological park of Dion. Right there, works of man – unique musical and theatrical performances –invite us to magic and dream nights, under the sky of Pieria!!!
