Answer: Wasser, Essen, Bahnhof, Bus, U-Bahn, Restaurant, Kirche, Brot, Bier, Freund, Mexiko, guten Morgen, guten Tag, gute Nacht, Hilfe, Krankenhaus, Geschäft, Karte, Bad, Hotel, Park, Medizin, Taxi , Tiere, Zoo, Party, Museum, Kleidung, Straße, Haus, Bad, Adresse, Bäckerei, Telefon, Hallo, auf Wiedersehen.

Agua,comida, estación de tren, autobús, metro, restaurante, iglesia, pan, cerveza, amigo, México, buenos días, buenas tardes, buenas noches, ayuda, hospital, tienda, mapa, baño, hotel, parque, medicina, taxi, animales, zoológico, fiesta, museo, ropa, calle, casa, baño, dirección, panadería, teléfono, hola, adiós...

Why did you learn these ones?

Answer: Because it was very important for me to have this information to be able to move around the city and communicate with people while I was visiting.

Do you still remember any of them?

Answer: Yes, I do. Sometimes I do not remember how to write all of them, but if I see something that makes me remember an specific situation, I can understand the meaning of the word, even if I cannot write it correctly.

Which of the two statements below do you agree with most? Why?

Answer: I think it is the teacher’s job to decide which vocabulary students are going to learn in the unit most of the time, taking as a guide the level of the group and the suggestions the syllabus for teachers make. However, in some cases students could decide some words too if they are making a project for the class.

a. Students can decide for themselves which words they would like to learn.

b. It’s the teacher’s job to decide which words students need to learn.
