Have you ever been on a sponsored walk/swim/run, etc. for charity?
Yes, I have been on a lot of sponsored walks for charities that raise money to help African village: to build school or to send teaching materials.
I have also collected signatures to request to the United Nations the abolition of the death penalty 20 years ago. It was a Italian challenge that the SGI (Soka Gakkai International), Nessuno Tocchi Caino , la comunità di Sant'Egidiowith Amnesty International did. It was the Dealth penalty moratorium that The UN approved in the 2008.
May be in this case, we can't use the word charity ?
