I think that charities are a good idea because it is always beautiful to help poor people or homelessness. Every time you do some charities it helps yourself to feel better.
In my country (Italy) there are a lot of organizations that raise money and food that will be donated at poor people, or in the winter season they will give heavy clothes at the homelessness.
