Hi, my name is Luca Feliziani.
This is my first post for "writing Tutorial 1"
1) The common names are Francesco and Laura.
2) No, my family name is not very common in the region where I live, but it is more common in the north of Italy.
3) No, I do not have specific information regarding the story of my family.
4) No, my name does not refer to any kind of profession. No, I do not think we have name referring to trade or profession in Italy, but we have a lot of nicknames of family name, that derive from past habits or activities.
5) Yes, in the time of globalization, we have several “foreign” names that are popular in Italy. They are for example Kevin and Tomas.
6) When we meet someone for the first time, we usually use Mr. or Mrs. Then, if the conversation is going on in a more informal way, we ask the permit to use “you” or the first name referring at the person directly.
7) Yes, sometimes we use surname the talk with other people, especially during formal meetings. This is a polite expression to refer to other people in formal discussions.
8) In Italy we usually use the words like “piccolino” or “amore di …” to show love for pets.
