Thanks for writing Iva! I know, mixed ability groups are fine if you only have 10 or 12 children, but with groups of 25 or more this can be a real problem. What can we do? As you say: depending on what the activity is we can put the children in groups or pairs, and then monitor them carefully. Sometimes in group or pair work you can give weaker students a little bit of individual attention. Anyway, it's not easy!

Unit 1
Mixed - ability classes are a reality in our actual educational system. Mixed - ability is a great problem. I think that smaller group about 10 students is easier for teacher and better for children too. Students have got different personalities and motivation, they all have got different learning style. I like working in pairs with my children. I try a pre- reading activities related to elected some vocabulary of the reading. It helps them better undrestand this text. Students like singing the songs. They practiced the words and their meaning are looking in the dictionary. Students don´t like grammar. It´s very difficult for them. We use some computer games, computer programs for English. Sometimes we play a game - pexaso. I use lots of interactive programs, which I prepare myself an the chidren like them.
