I believe music at all ages can be engaging , if a teacher uses age-appropiate music, students will feel motivated and participate in whatever activity happily.

However not all students are outgoing and are not willing to sing in front of a class, this is when teachers creativty steps in and helps to adjust music to different activites to engage all kind of learning styles.

I totally agree with you their are shy to sing in public but its an activity that they enjoy, an if they look at their taecher singing with out shi they started to do it step by step and the selcetion of the songs it´s crusial.

My first reaction was to also disagree with the first statement. If the teacher uses age-appropriate song, I am sure he or she can make singing the song a fun activity for the class. However, we do not have any further information on the class and their interests. Maybe this class in fact really does not enjoy singing and therefore, I comnpletely understand if the teacher does not want to include the activity in his/her class.

I sisare with the first statement. I find that all age groups like songs. I Think this is because you need to use the appropriate type of song.

Yes, humankind tend to sing; but not all kids want to do it in public even when they have an excellent relationship with their teacher or their peers, they are just introverts and it’s unfair to force them. That is why the selection of the song is vital because simple, repetitive lyrics might not be appealing for more advanced students, but on the other hand, fast-delivered lyrics might be frustrating for lower-level students. Let children decide on the song and be sure that you as a teacher make them all feel comfortable and at the same time help them discover new elements of their personality.

I disagree with the first statement. I consider this is more about the relationship between the teacher and their pupils or the relationship among students. Perhaps, children do not feel comfortable when singing a song due to the fact that they want to give an impression that songs are for babies. In addition, humankind tend to sing.

I agree, also the way that you use your materials is depending on your class profile.

I agree with the idea that kids love songs and it is a wonderful way to help them to gain confidence and to develop social skills.

I don’t think that all 10-year-olds consider singing to be an activity for babies. In my opinion, some of them are just shy to sing by themselves in front of an audience. But, when singing is done as a whole-class activity and the purpose is clearly stated they respond unhesitant. Of course, the selection of the song is essential and you as a teacher need to show enthusiasm.
