I agree with you, nevertheless would be important to be aware of not creating unnecessary competition between those who finish before and those who need more time and make sure students feel comfortable with the idea that everyone is different and need a different pace.

I completely agree with the third statement. Usually students who finish quickly are those who are advance. I consider that preparing extra material for quickly finishers is an essential resource in order to keep them occupy and interested, and it also would help as motivation for weaker students who would like to reach the level and speed of their classmates.
