1. Whose planning style is most like your own – Deniz's, Paolo's, Erika's or none of these? Why?
To be honest, none of them. I try to use variety of activities and different methodologies, so I'm always improving my teaching and changing what I do.
2. Which qualities do you think are most important in planning a unit of work? Give your reasons. Choose from this list, and add others if necessary:
To me, routine is not good because my students get bored easily. So again, variety is the key although sometimes I need to check the relevance of my activities and remove what it's not neccessary.
3. When you plan a lesson, do you...
a. I plan a series of lessons in order to teach a topic, sop I design a learning situation whith differents activities, usually upgrading the content and the knowlegde, so I need more than one lesson.
b. I don't usually start with the aims but from now on I'm going to start to do it ad check if it works better.
c. Idon't use the coursebook but other materials made by myself or other people. I use ICT a lot, and webs like glogster or scoop it. I also work with my own powerpoints, slideshares, presentations, webquests, flash cards, etc.
d. I try to plan in great detail.
4. What advice would you give a new teacher who says, "I spend hours and hours planning a scheme of work: I seem to go round and round, not getting anywhere"?
I would never dare to say I know how to it better, because sometimes I can be one of them!!!!! I'm learning how to improve my teaching every day, and sometimes I make mistakes or I spend hours working in one activity that actually doesn't work... Step by step, learning from mistakes, improving day by day.
