THE COLOSSEUM, ROME.
The Colosseum is one of the best and main monuments that we can visit in Rome. It was build by the flavium dynasty in the first century and was named, in Latin, Anphitheatrum Flavium Romae.
The monument has four floors and another one underground. It has elliptical form and all is built with big stones.
In the imperial age, many social meetings and events took place there like fights between gladiators and several animals.
Today we can appreciate its imposing presence as a witness of a glorious past.
